How do I verify my email?
After registration, check your inbox (and spam folder) for a verification email. Click the link to activate your account. If you didn't receive it, click "Resend Verification" on the unverified page.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click "Forgot Password?" on the login page, enter your email, and we'll send you a password reset link.
Can I change my username?
No, usernames are permanent once created. This is to maintain accountability for uploaded content.
What file types can I upload?
We support: PDFs, Office documents (.docx, .pptx, .xlsx), images (.jpg, .png, .gif, .svg), text files (.txt, .md), code files (.py, .java, .c, .cpp, .js, .html, .css), and .zip archives.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Click the "🚩 Report" button on any file card and select a reason. Admins will review and take action.
My account is in "view-only" mode. Why?
Your upload privileges have been restricted by an admin, typically due to policy violations. Contact support to request a review.
Is this platform affiliated with UMD?
No. Terp Notes is an independent, student-run platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the University of Maryland or any educational institution.
