5.3 Academic Integrity

Academic Integrity Warning:

• Do not upload materials that violate your institution's academic integrity policies
• Respect professor guidelines on note-sharing and collaboration
• Do not use this platform to facilitate cheating or plagiarism
• Violations may be reported to your institution's Office of Student Conduct

6. Content Ownership and Licensing

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of files you upload. However, by uploading to Terp Notes, you grant us:

• A non-exclusive license to store, display, and distribute your content on the platform
• The right to scan files for viruses and malware
• The right to remove content that violates these terms

6.2 Other Users' Content

Files shared on Terp Notes are provided "as-is" for educational purposes. You:

• May download and use files for personal study
• May NOT redistribute files outside the platform
• May NOT claim others' work as your own
• Must respect copyright and intellectual property rights

7. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

• Review uploaded files and user reports

We are not liable for user-generated content and do not pre-screen all uploads.

8. Virus Scanning and Security

We use VirusTotal to scan uploaded files. However:

• No antivirus is 100% effective
• You download files at your own risk
• Always scan downloads with your own antivirus software
• We are not liable for malware or security incidents

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Terp Notes is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind:

• We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or data integrity
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or legality of shared content
• We do not guarantee that the platform is error-free or secure
• We do not guarantee that files are virus-free

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Terp Notes and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data or files
• Academic consequences from using shared content
• Disciplinary action by educational institutions
• Malware, viruses, or security breaches
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Actions or content of other users
